Auto Configuration Rule Overview

Auto-Configuration Rules provide an automated and efficient way to manage backup settings for Microsoft Power Platform resources.

Once the rule is synced, all discovered resources automatically inherit the settings from the backup profile and the storage region assigned to the profile. The rule syncs every 24 hours, ensuring that backup profiles are consistently updated based on the defined conditions.

Auto Configuration Rule Overview

Key Benefits of Auto-Configuration Rules:

  • Automated Backup Assignments – Automatically map predefined backup configurations to Microsoft Power Platform resources.

  • Simplified Management – Reduce manual effort and streamline backup configuration.

  • Optimized Backup Strategy – Ensure appropriate data protection levels for different Microsoft Power Platform resources.

📝NOTE: Currently, only one rule can be created. All Power BI workspaces can be discovered, and the backup configuration can be defined as per this rule.
