Updating a Profile

This section defines which properties of an existing backup profile can be modified and provides the procedure for making updates.


Navigation and Access

To update a profile, follow these steps to reach the management interface:

  1. Select Workload: In the left navigation pane, go to Microsoft Power Platform > Backup Profiles.

  2. Select Profile: Click the Profile Name from the list to open the Profile Summary page.

  3. Locate Settings: Find the card on the Summary tab containing the property you wish to change.

๐Ÿ“NOTE: The Resources tab is read-only and lists affected entities; it does not support editing.


Modifying Profile Properties

Properties are grouped into "cards" on the Summary tab.

  1. Identify the specific card (e.g., Overview or Backup Schedule and Retention) containing the setting.

  2. Click the Edit button associated with that card.

  3. Modify the allowed fields and save your changes.

Modification Constraints

The following settings are permanent and cannot be modified after the initial profile creation:

Workload

Workload Type

The associated workload (e.g., Power BI) is fixed.

Security

Data Lock

If enabled, Data Lock cannot be disabled via the UI.

Retention

Retention Periods

Cannot be edited if Data Lock is enabled for the profile.
