Overview
As an inSync Cloud administrator, you can download the Google Workspace user data.
Backed up Gmail contents such as calendar events and contacts.
All backed up Google Drive contents.
You can also view the backup data by using the Druva Mobile App.
You can download Google Workspace data in either of the following methods:

When an administrator or a user downloads data, inSync automatically detects the operating system and downloads the data in the appropriate archive format. On Mac OS, now the data is automatically downloaded in the .tar.gz or .tar archive format, and on the Windows OS, the data is downloaded in the .zip archive format.

On Windows OS, if the compressed zip file size is too large, you may experience error unzipping the file using Windows Explorer. In such scenarios, you may choose another utility to unzip such large data sets.
Download Google Drive data through inSync Management Console
To download Google Drive data by using the inSync Management Console,
On the Users page, click the username of the user whose data you want to download and click Restore Data. Under Select a data source, select Google Drive.
Select the snapshot you want to download on the Restore Data window.
Select the files or folders that you want to download, and click Download.
The files are downloaded at the default download location of the web browser.
Download Gmail data through inSync Management Console
You can download the entire mailbox (Mails, Contacts, and Calendar) as Archive and PST files from a specific point in time snapshot using inSync Management Console. inSync also allows you to do selective downloads for emails, contacts, and calendars in the Archive, MBOX (applicable only for Mails), and PST file formats. For more information, see the Support Matrix for download.

You can download Gmail users' data in the PST, Archive, and MBOX file formats only using inSync Management Console. This is not supported using inSync Web.
You can also use Search to easily find and download specific emails.
You can download an entire mailbox or individually download data such as Mails, Notes, and Calendars.
Download entire mailbox of a user
Use the following procedure to download entire mailbox of a user.
On the Users page, click the username of the user whose data you want to download and click Restore Data. Under Select a data source, select Gmail.
Select the snapshot you want to download on the Restore Data window.
Select all folders and click Download.
On the Download Data window, select the desired file format from the displayed options - Archive and PST.
Click Download. The following lists the file format conventions that inSync uses for entire mailbox downloads.
Entire mailbox that includes Mails, Notes, and Calendars
Archive: The file format supported as per your operating system. For example,
<username>

MBOX format is only supported for Mails. Hence, if all folders are selected the MBOX format is disabled.
Download mailbox items individually
You can download mailbox items individually such as Mails, Contacts, and Calendars.
Download Mails
Use the following procedure to download Mails.
On the Users page, click the username of the user whose data you want to download and click Restore Data. Under Select a data source, select Gmail.
Select the snapshot you want to download on the Restore Data window.
Do one of the following:
To download the entire Mails folder, select Mails and click Download. On the Download Data window, select the desired file format from the displayed options - Archive, MBOX, and PST.
To download individual emails,
Click Mails and browse the mailbox.
Select the mailbox folders or emails that you want to download. On the Download Data window, select the desired file format from the displayed options - Archive, MBOX, and PST. Alternatively, you can also use Search to search for emails that you want to download. Click the email to view its details like sender, receiver, attachments and so on.
Click Download. For PST and MBOX download options, the conversion of files to PST and MBOX format takes a longer time to complete. After the conversion is complete, Druva sends an email to the registered email address with a link to download the data.

inSync logs the audit trail for the administrator who has initiated the download action. The link to download the PST and MBOX is also available within the audit trail entry once the conversion and download is complete.
Download Contacts
Use the following procedure to download Contacts.
On the Users page, click the username of the user whose data you want to download and click Restore Data. Under Select a data source, select Gmail.
Select the snapshot you want to download on the Restore Data window.
Do one of the following:
To download all contacts, select Contacts and click Download. On the Download Data window, select the desired file format from the displayed options - Archive and PST.
To download a contact group or an individual contact, click Contacts and browse the contact or contact group that you want to download and click Download. On the Download Data window, select the desired file format from the displayed options - Archive and PST.
Click Download. For PST download option, the conversion of files to PST format takes a longer time to complete. After the conversion is complete, Druva sends an email to the registered email address with a link to download the files.The following lists the file format conventions that inSync uses for contacts downloads.

Download Google Workspace data through inSync Web
inSync users can download Google Workspace data from inSync Web.
To download the data that is backed up from Google Workspace,
Open the inSync Web.
On the inSync Web menu bar, click Data Sources. Your data sources are displayed in the left pane.
Click Data Sources.
In the data sources list on the left pane, click Google Workspace.
In the Documents pane on the right side, click the row of the folder that you want to download, and then click More > Download.
The selected file or folder is downloaded. The folder is downloaded as a ZIP file. The file is downloaded as is.
