Druva Cloud Platform enables administrators to restore Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat data from a backup snapshot. Since in-place restore to Microsoft 365 Copilot is not supported, Copilot Chat data can be restored to a OneDrive account in HTML or JSON format, either to the original owner's account or to a different user's account.
The generated HTML file recreates the Copilot Chat experience, displaying user account details, prompts, and AI responses in chronological order with clear visual separation between each interaction.
đKnown Behaviors:
File reference URLs and citations are preserved in the HTML output. Links may not resolve if the source files no longer exist in OneDrive.
Rich formatting such as tables, code blocks, and adaptive cards may not be fully rendered in HTML output.
Prerequisites: Before You Begin
â ď¸DISCLAIMER
Restoring Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat interactions to a userâs OneDrive is a compliance-level export operation, not a standard user restore. This action may expose sensitive or confidential information to users who were not the original participants in the interaction context.
Ensure the following requirements are met before starting the restore process:
User Status Check (Preserved Users):
If restoring data for a preserved user, you may encounter an "Admin has disabled the device" message.
Action: You must first activate the user before proceeding with the restore, and then revert the user to preserved status after completion. See: activate a user.
