Problem Description
The downloaded PST ZIP file from Druva inSync cannot be opened or extracted. Users encounter errors such as “The archive is corrupt or invalid” when attempting to unzip the file.
Cause
The PST ZIP file may have been incompletely downloaded due to network interruptions.
Corruption during download caused by unstable connectivity or antivirus interference.
Incorrect extraction tool that does not support large ZIP files or the compression format used.

Error on extraction:
Cannot open file: The archive is corrupt or invalid.
Workarounds / Resolution
Verify File Size:
Compare the downloaded ZIP size with the size shown in the inSync restore portal. If smaller, the download was incomplete.
Re-download the PST ZIP:
Use a stable, high-speed network.
Disable VPN or proxy during download.
Use Supported Extraction Tool:
Recommended: 7-Zip or WinRAR (latest version).
Avoid using the default Windows extractor for large files.
Check Antivirus/Firewall:
Exclude the download location from antivirus during download and extraction to prevent file corruption.
