Problem description

Phoenix VMware backup fails on a VM with event id 1000 for VMware Tools.

  • This event from the OS is observed only with virtual machines.

  • VMware or any application backup (e.g SQL) on that virtual machine may get stuck or skip with PHOENIX243 error.

  • The following error is encountered:
    Volume Shadow Copy(VSS) Internal Error (#10004ffff : 0x80070583L) (Error Code : VSS65535)
