Overview

If you need to export settings or content for your Microsoft 365 Groups, Druva Cloud makes it easy. You can download the backup data in a compressed .zip file format. This guide walks you through the steps and highlights key limitations to be aware of.

What you can and cannot download

  • You can only download Group data (not SharePoint site-specific data).

  • If you need site-specific data, navigate directly to the corresponding SharePoint site.

  • Groups with quarantined sites are fully quarantined.

    • You cannot restore or download data from quarantined Groups.


📝NOTE:

  • Large Files on Windows: Windows Explorer may fail to unzip large .zip files. If that happens, switch to a dedicated unzipping utility like 7-Zip or WinRAR.

  • Quarantined Groups: If the Group Site is quarantined, you won’t be able to download or restore any data for that Group.


Steps to download Group data from Druva Cloud

  1. Sign in to the Druva Cloud Platform Console.

  2. Go to Microsoft 365 > Groups.

  3. Click the Group name for which you want to download data.

  4. Click Restore Data.

  5. Select the required snapshot using the snapshot selector.

  6. Click Download.

    • The data is downloaded as a .zip file in the format: <inSync-Groupname>.zip

Frequently asked questions

Can I restore data from a quarantined Group?

No. If a Group site is quarantined, the entire Group is considered quarantined. You cannot restore or download any data from it.

Why can I not unzip the downloaded file?

Windows Explorer may not handle very large .zip files. Use an alternative extraction tool.
