Download Site Collection

License Editions: For license details, see Plans & Pricing.

Overview

As an Druva Cloud administrator, you can download backed-up SharePoint Online site collections directly from the Druva Console. You can download either:

  • The entire site collection, including SharePoint settings, as a zipped folder (<insync-site collection name>.zip)

  • Specific sites or subsites based on metadata attributes using Enterprise Search.

📝NOTE:

On Windows, large zip files may not unzip properly with Windows Explorer. Use an alternative utility such as 7-Zip or WinRAR if you encounter this issue.

Procedure

  1. Sign in to the Druva Cloud Platform Console and go to Microsoft 365 > SharePoint. A list of all discovered sites will appear.

  2. Click the name of the site you want to download.

    • If the site is already enabled, its details page opens.

    • If not configured, you'll need to set up the site and trigger a backup before proceeding.

  3. Search for a site collection (optional): Use the Search Site Collection bar at the top-right to locate a specific site or subsite by its title or URL.

  4. On the site details page, go to the Backups tab. Select the Operational Recovery tab to view available snapshots.

    📝 Note

The Cyber Recovery tab becomes available only when the appropriate Cyber Resiliency license is enabled. The Recovery Intelligence (Cyber recovery tab) feature provides insights on the Cyber Resiliency of M365 resources. Understanding these capabilities is crucial to maintaining a strong security posture and ensuring rapid, secure recovery from cyber threats like ransomware.

To view and access the Cyber Recovery tab, you must either have the Security Posture & Observability, Accelerated Ransomware Recovery license, or a premium license. For more information, see Restore SharePoint resources using Cyber Recovery tab.

  5. In the Snapshot section:

  • Select the snapshot containing the data you want to restore.

  • To narrow results, click the Filter icon and refine by:

    • File extension

    • File size

    • Created or modified date

    • File name

📝NOTE:

  • Padlock icon: Indicates a quarantined snapshot.

  • Exclamation mark: Latest clean quarantined snapshot (undeletable).

  • Red dot: Indicates a quarantined snapshot from which you cannot restore or download data.

For more information, see Ransomware Recovery for M365.

  1. Select the required files or folders and click Download.

    ❗IMPORTANT

If a site, subsite, list, or library contains a forward slash ( / ) in its name, the snapshot will display it as an underscore ( _ ).

  2. Click OK to confirm. The selected data is downloaded as a .zip file in the format:
    <insync-site collection name>.zip
