Manually Configuring Backups for Power Apps Environments

Use Manual Configuration to selectively protect specific Power Apps environments. This method provides granular control over storage regions and backup profiles for individual resources.

Prerequisites

  • The Power Apps prerequisite must be complete and the environment scan must be finished.

  • The target environments must appear in the All Environments list with a status of Not Configured.

Step 1: Initialize Configuration

  1. Navigate to Power Apps > All Environments.

  2. Select the checkbox for one or more environments.

  3. Click Configure for Backup.

Step 2: Define Backup Settings

Complete the following fields in the configuration pane:

Setting

Requirement

Environments to Backup

Shows the environments you selected.

Storage Region

Select an Azure region defined during initial setup.

Immutable: Storage once assigned cannot be changed. Azure only is in scope.

Backup Profile

Select an existing Power Apps profile or create a new one.

The pane shows a summary of the selected profile:

  • Backup Profile Name (link to the profile)

  • Backup Frequency (default: Once a Day)

  • Retention (default: 7D, 4W, 12M)

  • Data Lock (default: Disabled)

Step 3: Save and Verify

  1. Click Save.

  2. A confirmation appears: Successfully configured backup of selected Environment.

  3. State Change: The environment status transitions from Not Configured to Configured.

  4. Verification: In the Configured Environments tab, the environment appears with the assigned profile (for example, PowerApps Default Profile). Last Backup Status is Never until the first backup completes.

Triggering an On-Demand (Manual) Backup

Once an environment is configured, you can trigger a backup immediately without waiting for the scheduled window.

  1. Go to the Configured Environments tab.

  2. Select the target environment.

  3. Click Backup Now.

  4. Monitoring: Druva creates a new backup job. Monitor progress on Microsoft Power Platform > Jobs, on the Power Apps sub-tab.

Summary: Manual configuration is a three-step process: Select (from All Environments), Define (Storage and Profile), and Save. Once configured, you can use Backup Now for immediate protection.

See Managing Power Apps Snapshots for environment-level actions.
