Feature
Introducing Smart Backup โ the intelligent way to backup your SharePoint Online data
Smart Backup utilizes an advanced site change detection algorithm to selectively back up SharePoint Online sites. This ensures that only sites with changes are backed up, while unmodified sites are skipped.
To ensure your data stays up to date, Smart Backup requires you to set a mandatory backup interval, to reconcile data across all sites. You can choose a frequency that works best for your needs, ranging from 2 days to quarterly (90 days). The default setting is set to a weekly backup (7 days).
Key Benefits
Mitigate API throttling issues.
Improve service level agreement (SLA) compliance for SharePoint sites undergoing content changes.
Customer Action
Default Enablement: The Smart Backup feature is enabled by default for all customers, therefore no action is required.
Opt-Out Option: If you prefer not to have this feature enabled, or if you have any questions, please contact our Support team.
Update Mandatory Backup Interval (optional): If necessary, adjust the backup interval to a duration between 2 and 90 days.
For more information, see Smart Backup for SharePoint
Enterprise Key Management for Microsoft 365
With Enterprise Key Management, you can use keys generated from your AWS Key Management Service (KMS) account to encrypt and decrypt the data backed up by Druva inSync. This new feature adds an extra layer of encryption beyond Druva's default backup encryption, giving you more control over your data security.
โ
Key benefits:
Use your AWS KMS-generated keys to protect Druva inSync backups
You have ownership of the encryption and decryption key, enabling your full control to revoke it anytime.
Druva will not store the key and the key will be requested when needed.
For more information, see Enterprise Key Management for Druva Cloud Protection
Customer action required
Enterprise Key Management is available on request. To enable this feature for your account, contact Support.
Protect Microsoft Teams Shared Channel
Druva now supports backup and restore capabilities for Microsoft Teams Shared Channels. Shared Channels allow flexible cross-organisation collaboration by enabling controlled sharing of a Teams channel across Azure Active Directory tenants. With this release, you gain enhanced control over your Microsoft Teams Shared Channel data.
What's New
Shared Channels will now be backed up and restored as Shared Channels instead of standard channels.
Both full and granular restores of Shared Channel data are supported.
Benefits
Enhanced Data Recovery: Recover lost or deleted Shared Channel data comprehensively, ensuring business continuity.
Granular Control: Choose to restore specific Shared Channel elements or the entire Shared Channel, saving time and effort.
