How to download logs without WinSCP

Overview

To download logs from a backup proxy / AWS DR proxy / Linux Cloudcache without using WinSCP you can rely on MobaXterm or other tools like scp.

Procedure:

Method 1: Using SCP in MobaXterm

Click Start local terminal

Command: scp -r username@ip:/source_path destination_path

Example 1: scp -r root@172.16.53.187:/var/log/Druva/EnterpriseWorkloads .

"." is the current or home folder.

“r” for folder

Path for Home folder : C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Roaming\MobaXterm\home

Example 2:

scp -r root@172.16.53.187:/var/log/Druva/EnterpriseWorkloads/dr-vmware /drives/c/Users/muzaffar.wangde/Downloads/

Destination Path: /drives/c/Users/muzaffar.wangde/Downloads/

Method 2: Using STFP in MobaXterm

Method 3: Using SCP in Command Prompt

Open Command Prompt

Goto to path example "C:\Users\muzaffar.wangde\Documents"

Command: scp -r username@ip:/source_path destination_path

Example 1:
scp -r root@172.16.53.187:/var/log/Druva/EnterpriseWorkloads/dr-vmware .

"." is current folder

Example 2:

scp -r root@172.16.53.187:/var/log/Druva/EnterpriseWorkloads "C:\Users\muzaffar.wangde\Downloads"

Destination Path: C:\Users\muzaffar.wangde\Downloads
