Problem Statement
The Druva eDiscovery Client registration fails with an "Internal Server Error" during the registration process.
Cause
Third-party security, network filtering, web proxy, antivirus, EDR, DLP, VPN, or Zero Trust applications may block, inspect, or modify the communication between the eDiscovery Client and Druva cloud services. This can prevent the client from successfully completing the registration process.
Resolution
Temporarily disable the security or network filtering application and retry the registration.
If registration succeeds, work with your IT/Security team to:
Allowlist *.druva.com and ensure outbound HTTPS (TCP 443) communication is permitted.
Exempt Druva traffic from SSL/TLS inspection, if applicable.
Exclude the eDiscovery Client executables, installation directory, services, and associated DLLs from antivirus and endpoint security scans.
These are the default paths for eDiscovery that need to be excluded in your Antivirus -
For Windows -
C:\Program Files (x86)\Druva\eDiscovery\
C:\ProgramData\Druva\eDiscovery
For Mac –
/Library/Application Support/Druva/eDiscovery
3. To identify the executable path for exclusions, open Services (services.msc), locate the Druva eDiscovery Client Service, and review the Path to Executable in the service properties.
