Problem description
In the console, specifically within the Enterprise Workloads > Hyper-V section, the "Register New Hyper-V Host" button appears grayed out or inactive. This visual state prevents administrators from proceeding with agent installation and host activation, which are prerequisites for VM discovery and protection.
Cause
The registration option is disabled because the current environment lacks a compatible storage target for Hyper-V workloads. The system restricts registration if only Azure storage is provisioned, as this storage cloud is not supported for Hyper-V host registration in this configuration.
Traceback
UI Symptom: Register New Hyper-V Host button is unclickable.
Storage Configuration: Storage Cloud is set to Azure.
Requirement: Hyper-V workloads require AWS-based Cloud Storage.
Resolution
To enable the registration button, ensure that the environment is provisioned with supported AWS storage.
Verify Storage Cloud Type:
Navigate to Storage in the console header.
Review the Storage Cloud column for your provisioned regions.
Confirm that the storage cloud is AWS and not Azure.
Request Supported Storage:
If only Azure storage is visible, connect with Druva Support to have AWS Storage assigned to your account.
Refer to the Supported Cloud Storage Regions for Enterprise Workloads to identify compatible regions.
Refresh and Register:
Once AWS storage is active, return to the Hyper-V workload page.
The Register New Hyper-V Host button should now be active.
Include and exclude filters
Include: Ensure the selected region is listed as a supported AWS region for Enterprise Workloads.
Exclude: Verify that the Storage Cloud is AWS only and not Azure for this specific workload.
Verification
Navigate to the Storage tab and confirm at least one entry shows AWS under the Storage Cloud column.
Go to Protect > Hyper-V and verify the Register New Hyper-V Host button is no longer grayed out.
