Before you begin
Ensure that the server on which you plan to install CloudCache matches the minimum requirements listed for CloudCache R4 under System requirements.
CloudCache R4 cannot be installed on a device that has an activated Enterprise Workloads agent.
Update your operating system to Ubuntu 22.04 or later.
Ensure that you’re setting a hard limit for your storage units. Once that limit is reached, your new writes fail and it causes your active backup jobs to fail instantly. You can still restore your existing data, but you will need to increase the limit or delete old backups (and run a cleaning cycle) to start writing again. If the limit/quota is not set, the consumed size statistics may be incorrect.
Credential and Network Requirements
To configure the integration, you must have the following details ready for the Dell Data Domain appliance:
Data Domain Host: The IP address or Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of the appliance.
📝Note
Hostname or IP, once registered, cannot be modified. If you have an environment where its IP may change, we recommend that you register your DD using FQDN.
Storage Unit Name: The specific name of the storage unit on the Data Domain.
Username: A valid username with access to the storage unit.
Password: The corresponding password for the specified user.
