Overview
Within the inSync console, when restoring data related to Microsoft Entra ID, there's an important distinction between App Registrations and Enterprise Applications.
To successfully restore an enterprise application, it is necessary to:
- First restore the App Registration,
- Then ensure that the “Restore Relationship” option is selected.
Attempting to restore only the Enterprise Application will not work unless the associated App Registration is restored first, as the Enterprise Application depends on it.
Procedure
Step 1
From the Home page of the inSync console, open the main menu by clicking the menu icon at the top-left corner..
Step 2
In the main menu, scroll to the Data Protection section and click Microsoft Entra ID.
Step 3
On the Overview page for Microsoft Entra ID, click the Restore Data button located in the top-right corner.
Step 4
In the Snapshot Viewer, select the appropriate snapshot from the dropdown in the center of the screen.
Step 5
Once the snapshot loads, click on App Registrations to see the list of backed-up apps.
Step 6
Check the box next to the relevant Enterprise Application. Click Restore.
Step 7
In the Restore Data window, leave the default setting “Restore Relationship” enabled.
Step 8
Click Restore to initiate the process.

You must restore the App Registration with the “Restore Relationship” enabled; restoring only the Enterprise Application will not work.
