Feature

Enhanced Search for Device mapping

The Device Mapping search functionality has now been upgraded to allow you to search for user devices by email address, old device name, and user name.

This enhancement simplifies user device management, making it easier and faster to locate and map devices.

Here is a glimpse

Simplified user management with automated sync for AD/LDAP

You now have the ability to automatically synchronize users who are added to the inSync environment, either manually or through API, provided they exist in your AD/LDAP directory.

This feature simplifies user management, minimizing manual efforts and saving time.

Customer action: None

For more information, see Synchronize inSync users.

User Interface Update - Data Loss Prevention moved under Endpoints Console

The Data Loss Prevention (DLP) functionality has now moved to the "Endpoints" workload. The change simplifies the user experience by streamlining all related functionalities into the Endpoints workload, making it easier to manage users and devices.

Data Governance

Enhancement

New filter type added to API for Legal Hold Policy

When using the List Legal Hold Policies v4 API, you can now also search for a Legal Hold policy by specifying the legalHoldTypeIds filter. For more information, see Legal Hold APIs v4.

Enhanced Whitelist capability: Regular Expression support

The Whitelist feature now supports Regular Expression (regex) in addition to the standard Keyword type.

This enhancement allows administrators to create more flexible and accurate whitelisting rules, reducing false positives.

Now, when adding keywords to your Whitelist, you can choose between the existing Keyword type and the new Regular Expression type.

For more information, see Adding Keywords to Whitelist.

Enhanced Data Security: User-Level Download Controls

User-level downloads for SaaS applications in the User Portal can now be globally restricted. This feature covers all formats, including Archive and MDS. When enabled, the download option will be disabled for users, thereby enhancing data security and ensuring compliance.

πŸ“Note:

This feature requires both Endpoints license and either Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace license. Customers with only an Endpoint license cannot access this functionality. For more information, see Download data using the inSync Web.

Administrator Management with AD/LDAP

This release introduces Administrator Management functionality using your existing Active Directory (AD) or Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) integration. This simplifies managing Druva administrators within the Druva Cloud Platform (DCP).

❗ Important

The availability of this feature may be limited based on the license type, region, and other criteria. To access this feature, contact your Druva Account Manager or Druva Support.

Benefits:

  • Simplified Administrator Management: Organizations using AD/LDAP for user management can now effortlessly manage Druva administrators as well.

  • Improved Efficiency: Leverage your existing AD/LDAP integration for centralized administration of Druva users and administrators.

What's New?

  • New AD/LDAP Connector: A new version of the AD/LDAP Connector is included to support Administrator Management functionality. (Link to DCP release notes for more details)

  • Updated Settings Location: Previously, AD/LDAP Connector and Account settings resided in the "End Points and SaaS Apps Settings" page. These settings have been relocated to the "Druva Cloud Settings" section within the DCP console.

  • Upgraded Administrator Permissions: Upgrading of AD/LDAP Connectors is now an exclusive privilege of Druva Cloud Administrators.

Action Required

Upgrade all existing AD/LDAP Connectors to the new version. This upgrade is necessary to grant the required permissions to inSync & DCP administrators for modifying mappings and configurations.

❗ Important

Existing AD mappings created for user management will continue to function. However, to allow inSync & DCP Administrators to modify mappings and related configurations, DCP Administrators must upgrade all existing AD/LDAP connectors.
