Change the backup proxy pool for a backup proxy
You can move a proxy from one pool to another pool. You might want to move the backup proxy to a different pool based on the following reasons:
You want to scale up and thus move the backup proxy to a different backup proxy pool.
You want to delete the backup proxy pool.
Considerations
You can only change the pool for a proxy if all the proxies in the pool are on the latest version (7.0.2).
You cannot change the backup proxy pool if the proxy in the existing pool is mapped to a device. The count can never be zero. To resolve it, unmap it from the NAS device.
If you want to move multiple proxies to a different pool, they should all belong to the same pool.
Procedure
Log in to the Management Console.
From the top menu bar, select your organization if organizations are enabled.
Click Protect > NAS.
In the left pane, click All Backup Proxy Pools.
Select the desired backup proxy pool from the list and click Save.
You can also create a new backup proxy pool. See, Create a new backup proxy pool.
A confirmation dialog box appears.
Click OK to change the backup proxy pool.
View backup proxy pool details
You can view the details of backup proxies, devices, backup sets, and time zones in the Details section of the Pool Details tab.
Click the # Mapped Devices to view the list of mapped devices to which the proxy pool is connected and the number of backup sets to which it is mapped for this pool.
You can also check these details by clicking the Devices tab.
Edit backup proxy pool
Log in to the Management Console.
From the top menu bar, select your organization if organizations are enabled.
Click Protect > NAS.
In the left pane, click All Backup Proxy Pools.
Click on the backup proxy pool.
In the Pool Details tab, click Edit to edit the backup proxy pool.
Alternatively, you can select a device, click Mapped Proxy Pools, and click the pool you want to edit. Next, click Edit.
In the Edit Backup Proxy Pool dialog, you can edit the name, country, and time zone.
Click Save.
Delete backup proxy pool
Before deleting a backup proxy pool, you must move the backup proxies under this backup proxy pool to other pools. The backup proxy pool cannot be deleted if it has backup proxies associated with it.
Considerations
You cannot delete the Default Proxy Pool.
If you do not move the backup proxies under the backup proxy pool that is being deleted, all the backup proxies are automatically deleted.
Procedure
Log in to the Management Console.
From the top menu bar, select your organization if organizations are enabled.
Click Protect > NAS.
In the left pane, click All Backup Proxy Pools.
A confirmation dialog box appears.
Read the message carefully and click Yes to delete the backup proxy pool.
