How to exclude file extensions from SharePoint backup

Overview

As an administrator, you can decide and exclude certain files from SharePoint backup using the inSync Management Console.

inSync excludes the files based on its extensions.

Exclude SharePoint files from backup

  1. On the inSync Management Console menu bar, click Menu > Microsoft 365.

  2. Click SharePoint. A page with the Configure sites appears.

  3. Click on the SharePoint site for which you wish to exclude files for backup.

  4. click Edit next to the Backup Settings..

  5. Select Custom and provide the appropriate information for each field.

  6. In the File Types text box, add the file extensions which you wish to exclude for SharePoint backup
