ENHANCEMENT

Automated Workspace Authorization

Workspace authorization for Power Platform protection is now automated, so administrators no longer need to manually add the security group to individual Power BI workspaces. The Azure security group must be created with the exact name DRUVA-SG-DPPSPN-DR. If the group name does not match exactly, backup will fail.

Customer action: Rename or update the Azure security group name to DRUVA-SG-DPPSPN-DR to continue backup.

License Consumption Logic for Power Platform

The license counting logic for Power Platform has been updated. These changes provide more accurate license reporting and align with user access patterns across workspace content. To learn more, see Enabling Microsoft Power Platform Protection.

UI Update: Refreshed Alerts Page

The Alerts interface is now enhanced to provide streamlined user experience and visual appeal.

Here are the Key changes:

  • Font Update: The console font has been updated to improve readability and provide a more intuitive look and feel.

  • Workload icon refinements: workload icons have been redesigned for a cleaner , more visually appealing appearance while also improving clarity and context.

NEW FEATURE

Microsoft Power BI Protection

We are excited to announce that Druva is extending data protection support to Microsoft Power Platform, beginning with Power BI. This release marks the first phase of broader Power Platform coverage, with additional components planned in future releases.

Power BI protection enables automated backup and granular recovery of business-critical Power BI assets within your organization.

Key Features

  • Automated discovery : Instantly detects all Power BI assets across your tenant — no manual intervention required.

  • Flexible backup scheduling : Configure automated backups with customizable retention policies that dynamically map to current and future resources.

  • Granular recovery : Recover workspace contents such as reports, dashboard or semantic models.

  • Compliance & long-term retention: Automate data retention policies to meet strict regulatory requirements, bypassing the limitations of Microsoft’s 30-day native retention.

  • Ransomware-proof protection : Keep your data safe from ransomware and rogue admins with air-gapped, immutable backups isolated from the primary Microsoft tenant.

  • Unified Microsoft governance: Protect reports built on Power BI and data these reports rely upon for accuracy and which are stored in Microsoft 365 apps like SharePoint, Dynamics 365, Azure SQL etc.

Availability

The availability of this feature may be limited based on the license type, region, and other criteria. To access this feature, contact support.
