This section defines how to set up and manage email-based notifications for Microsoft Power Platform backup events.
📝NOTE : These alerts are not displayed in the UI. Notifications are sent through email only.
Supported Alert Types and Severity
The following alert types are supported:
Alert Name | Severity | Trigger Event |
Power BI Backup Failed | Warning | Triggered when a backup job status is "Failed." |
Power Platform Active License Limit Reached | Critical | Triggered when active licenses match the purchased quota. |
Power Platform License Expiry | Critical | Triggered when the current subscription is nearing its end date. |
Accessing Alerts
To configure or modify alert settings:
Navigate to the Microsoft Power Platform workload section.
Click the Alert (Bell Icon) located in the top navigation bar.
Select the specific alert from the list to open its settings pane.
Configuration Availability Matrix
The following table provides a high-level view of the fields that you can configure based on the alert severity.

Mute alert type | Sets the mute status for the alert type. | N | Y |
Alert Message | Displays the message that will appear in the email sent to the recipients when the alert is generated. This field also accepts custom messages. To include links, copy the URL into the message. | Y | Y |
Collate all emails for this alert | Collates all the alerts of the same time in a single email and sends it to subscribers at a specific frequency. | N | Y |
Email frequency | Displayed only if Collate all emails for this alert are selected. Sets the frequency of the collated email for the alert type. | N | Y |
Send email notifications to (subscribers) | Stores email addresses of subscribers of the alert. | Y | Y |
Modifying Alert Settings
This section describes how to configure alert settings on the Alert Settings dialog box and describes each field in further detail.
To perform alert settings:
On the Power Platform top menu bar, click the Alert icon.
Click the Settings and Subscriptions tab. A list of available alerts is displayed on the tab.
Select the alert type you want to configure and click Edit. The Alert Settings window appears.
Update the required settings and click Save.
The fields available for configuration will depend on the severity of your selected alert.
