A Reserved Proxy Pool is a dedicated set of backup resources used specifically for Scheduled Cyber Recovery testing. Reserved Proxy Pools keep your recovery testing separate from your daily backup operations. By using dedicated proxies for recovery, you ensure that intensive testing tasks do not compete for resources or slow down your production backup window.

Guidelines for Reserved Proxy Pools

While you can assign any workload to a proxy pool, Reserved Proxy Pools are specifically designed for recovery testing and incident response.

  • Recommended Use: Use these pools exclusively for:

    • Scheduled Recovery Testing: Can use either standard or Reserved Proxy Pool.

    • Live Incident Recovery: Must be paired with a Reserved Proxy Pool and an IRE vCenter.

  • Avoid Regular Backups: We recommend not using the Reserved Proxy Pool for daily VM backups or auto-configuration rules.

The following table summarizes the key differences in how these pools handle workloads and resource allocation.
