Okta API Service Integration with Druva

Updated over a month ago

Overview

This guide aims to provide detailed, step-by-step instructions on how to connect your Okta account to Druva. This integration enables secure, rapid backup and recovery of your Okta information, ensuring business continuity.

The integration involves two main stages:

  1. Configuration in Okta: Authorizing the Druva API Service in your Okta console to generate the necessary credentials (Client ID and Client Secret). This action effectively grants Druva permission within your Okta account.

  2. Configuration in Druva: Entering those credentials into your Druva instance to complete the connection.

Before You Begin

To complete these steps, ensure you have the following administrative privileges:

  • In Okta: You must have Super Admin access.

  • In Druva: You must have Druva Cloud Admin or Product Admin access.

Procedure

Step 1: Setting up in Okta

To set up your Okta instance with Druva, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Okta Admin Console.

  2. Navigate to Applications > API Service Integrations.

  3. Click Add Integration.

4. In the list of available integrations, search for and select Druva. And click Next.

5. The next screen displays the integration details and the list of permission scopes to be granted. Review these details, then click Install & Authorize.

6. A modal displaying your Client Secret appears.

7. Click Copy to Clipboard and save this secret in a secure location.

Important: This secret is required to link your Okta instance within the Druva Console and will not be shown again.

8. After you have safely saved the secret, click Done to close the modal.

Step 2: Setting up Okta Configuration in Druva Console

To complete the integration, you will now enter the credentials from Okta into your Druva instance.

  1. Log in to your Druva Cloud Management Console.

2. Navigate to All Services > Okta.

3. Click the Authorize button.

4. Enter the following details you gathered from Okta:

  • Okta Domain

  • Client ID

  • Client Secret Key

Tip: If you have lost the secret key, you must return to the Okta Admin Console, find the Druva integration, and click the Generate New Secret button.

5. Click the Authorize button.

6. The Cloud Key Management screen appears. Click Save.

Note: Cloud Key Management, once enabled, cannot be disabled.

7. The Druva and Okta integration setup is now complete.
