How to Manually Refresh the VM List on Hyper-V in Druva

Updated this week

Overview

After changes in your Hyper-V environment—such as adding or removing virtual machines—it may be necessary to manually refresh the VM list to ensure Druva reflects the latest state of your infrastructure. This guide explains how to manually trigger VM discovery in the Druva console for Hyper-V hosts.

Steps to Manually Discover Virtual Machines

  1. Login to the Druva Console.

  2. Navigate to “ Hosts” from the left-hand menu.

  3. In the top center of the Hosts list, click the Refresh icon (🔄) located next to the "Hosts" label.

  4. This action will initiate a manual discovery of all VMs available on the selected Hyper-V host.

  5. Once the refresh completes, verify that the VM list has updated to reflect the current state of the host.

Note:

  • Manual refresh does not impact ongoing backups or configured backup policies.

  • If VMs are still missing after refresh, check that Druva has the correct permissions and connectivity to the Hyper-V host.

  • Refreshing may take a few moments depending on the number of VMs and host performance.
