Applicable to Client versions - Windows - v7.5.0 |
Overview
inSync Client 7.5 for Windows enables 64-bit support with large memory capacity and the enhanced architecture of 64-bit systems. It also allows more efficient processing and better overall performance. With the infrastructure changes in inSync Client v7.5, below are the installation modifications:
Impact | 32 Bit Architecture | 64 Bit Architecture |
Windows Registry | HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Druva Software\Druva inSync\ | HKLM\Software\Druva Software\Druva inSync\InstallDir |
Installation Path | C:\Program Files (x86)\Druva\inSync | C:\Program Files \Druva\inSync\ |
Redirection Scenarios | Redirects from: C:\Windows\System32
Redirects To: C:\Windows\SysWow64 | C:\Windows\System32\ |
Considerations
inSync Client v7.5 will backup only incremental changes from the system32 folder. In case of an upgrade, you need to contact Druva support for a full scan if the System 32 folder configured. By default, the Windows folder is excluded from the backup. In case the Windows folder is not excluded and the customer wants to backup the System32 folder, he can do that in a fresh 64-bit client installation.
If you want to backup the contents in the system32 folder, you can contact support and a full scan will be set for those devices on request.
To backup Outlook data, the Outlook installed should only be able to backup MAPI data if 64-bit Outlook is installed.
๐ Note
โIn case Outlook installed is 32bit and the customer upgraded inSync Client to 64bit client. It will be treated as misconfigured.
inSync Client v7.5 can only backup Outlook data if 64-bit Outlook is installed.
In case of an auto-upgrade, the auto-upgrade is supported from v6.5.

Can I configure Insync backup on a computer running Windows 8.1, and what version of Insync is supported for Windows 8.1?
Answer: It is possible to configure Insync backup on a computer running Windows 8.1, but there is no specific version of Insync officially supported for Windows 8.1. The latest client supports Windows 10 and 11, and for the rest of the OS, limited support is available. With limited support, if you encounter any bug that is only reproducible on Windows 8.1 64-bit, it will not be fixed by the Product team. Also, upgrade scenarios are not supported. For official documentation on supported operating systems, you can refer to the inSync Client support and upgrade scenarios and the endpoints support matrix and EOS policies.
