Overview

This topic explains how you can upgrade the inSync Client to the latest version.

❗ Important

Upgrade to the latest versions on macOS is supported from version 6.5.x, as specified in the upgrade matrix.

Auto-upgrade the inSync Client

Your administrator can configure the inSync Server to upgrade the inSync Client automatically on your laptop.

  • If your administrator has enabled show Druva icon in the system tray for you, the inSync Client icon disappears from your system tray during the upgrade and reappears after the upgrade is complete.

  • If your administrator has enabled desktop notifications for you, the inSyncLaunched message appears after the inSync Client upgrade is complete.

πŸ“ Note
If the inSync Client fails to upgrade, then it will auto-roll back to the previous Client version without affecting or losing the user’s login information. The rollback also ensures that no user data is lost and backup operations are not disrupted.
