Upgrade Enterprise Workloads agent on Windows for MS SQL
Updated over 3 months ago

Enterprise Workloads Editions: βœ… Business | βœ… Enterprise | βœ… Elite

Before you begin

Before you begin, ensure the following:

  • You are logged on to the server that has an existing installation of Hybrid Workloads agent as an administrator.

  • Your server matches the requirements listed in prerequisites for Hybrid Workloads agent.

  • You have downloaded the latest Hybrid Workloads agent installer on your server. The installer is available on the Druva downloads page. You can also download the installer from the Management Console when registering new servers.

  • To upgrade a Hybrid Workloads agent manually, it is recommended to install a new version of the Hybrid Workloads agent without uninstalling the existing old agent. This avoids the need for re-registration of the agent with Druva because the uninstallation process removes all the logs and the configuration-related information from the server.

You can also upgrade multiple agents and proxies for different workloads at the same time from the Management Console.

Procedure

  1. Double-click the Druva installer.

  2. Click Next.

  3. Type or select the full path to the installation home directory in the Install location box.

  4. Click Install.

  5. After the installation completes, click Finish.

πŸ“ Note
After an upgrade, Hybrid Workloads agent is activated automatically. You do not require a separate activation of Hybrid Workloads agent.

Upgrade the Hybrid Workloads agent using Management Console

When you register a SQL server, the Windows server that hosts the SQL server is listed on the Protect > MS-SQL page on the Management Console. You can use the following steps to upgrade the Hybrid Workloads agent on the Windows servers:

  2. Click Protect >MS-SQL. Note that if the All Organizations menu is enabled, you have to first select an organization and then click Protect > MS-SQL.

  3. Under the Agent Version column on the Registered Servers tab, you can view the current status for each agent.

  4. Select one or more agents that you want to upgrade and click Upgrade.
