Objective

This article is created for users to easily understand the complete procedure involved in how to deploy, configure and test MS-SQL database backups & restores. Intention is any users with no prior knowledge of Druva Phoenix will be able to follow and complete activity without any need of assistance.

Steps:

  1. Compatibility / Support for SQL Server Database.

  2. Prerequisites / Requirement for SQL Server Database.

  3. Deployment / Installation Phase for SQL Server Database.

  5. Testing backup and restores of SQL Server Database.

Solution:

  1. Compatibility / Support for SQL Server Database.
    It is important to understand the version of the MS-SQL Server and see if it is supported by Druva Hybrid workload, please review the support matrix and Druva's EOL policy.

    Note : If the required MS SQL Server edition is not listed in Support matrix, this means it is not tested and supported. Express editions are not supported. For more detailed information on which Windows versions are compatible with each SQL Server release, please refer to Using SQL Server in Windows on the Microsoft website.

    How to check which SQL Server edition is supported by Hybrid Workload?​
    Log in to the SQL Server Management Studio > on left you will see Build number or version.


    With the above information collected kindly navigate to Microsoft link to find MS SQL version Latest updates and version history for SQL Server

    You can also determine which version and edition of SQL Server Database Engine is running.
