Introduction

Monitoring your Microsoft 365 Groups data is essential for maintaining data integrity, ensuring compliance, and proactively addressing issues. With Druva, you can set up alerts, track activities, view audit trails, and generate reports to keep your Groups environment secure and transparent.

How to enable alerts for Groups events

After configuring Druva with Microsoft 365, you can enable alerts to receive email notifications for critical events. Supported alerts include:

  • Restore status

  • Backup failure

  • Cloudapp status

Steps to enable alerts:

  1. From the Druva home page, select the Alerts icon.

  2. On the Manage Alerts page, click Settings and Subscriptions.

  3. Select an alert and click Edit.

  4. In the Send email notifications to (subscribers) field, enter the email addresses of recipients.

    • By default, server administrators are subscribed.

  5. Click Save.

How to view and download Groups reports

Reports contain a summary of events and activities that have occurred during a specific period. You can download or email the Groups Backup and Restore report. For more information, see Reports.

Steps to generate a report:

  1. Go to Reports > Groups Backup and Restore Report .

  2. Choose and action:

    1. Click Email to send the report. Specify the email recipient and the preferred format, then click Send .

    2. Click Download to download the report in HTML or CSV format.


How to monitor storage details

You can view details such as the storage summary, usage growth, and usage by profile.

Steps to view storage:

  1. Click Settings > Storage .

  2. Click the required storage name to view its details.


View Groups activities

The Activity Stream page displays details of the completed Groups activities.

How to view Groups activities:

Use the Activity Stream to check completed actions across your Groups.

Steps to view activity logs:

  1. Sign in to Druva Cloud Platform Console.

  2. Go to Microsoft 365 > Groups.

  3. Click the name of the Group you want to monitor.

  4. In the Activity Stream tab, select an Activity and Type.

  5. Click Download Logs to retrieve logs as a .txt file.

    • Separate files are created for Groups, Site, and Planner.

  6. Use filters to narrow results by time interval and status.


How to view live backup or restore activities

The Live Activities page displays the current progress of ongoing backup or restore activities of all Groups including Site and Planner.

Steps to view live activities:

  1. Click the clock icon on top nav in the Druva dashboard.

  2. View ongoing backup or restore tasks.

  3. Click an activity to open the Activity Details dialog.

    • Shows summary and real-time progress for Groups and associated apps.


How to access Groups audit trails

The Audit Trails page displays details about the activities performed by users and administrators.

Steps to view audit trails:

  1. Go to Audit Trails.

  2. Navigate to Admin Audit Trail.

  3. In Activity Type, select Groups to filter relevant records.
