The Quota Management feature allows administrators to configure quota thresholds that trigger automated monitoring alerts when limits are breached. It enables admins to track resource usage, establish proactive threshold warnings, and filter consumption data effectively.
Dashboard Overview
The primary landing interface for Quota Management is divided into two distinct sections tailored to the infrastructure type: Enterprise Workloads and SaaS Apps and Endpoints.
Summary Banner
At the top of the screen, a persistent summary panel provides a high-level status of your managed environment:
Accounts with set Quota: Displays the total count of distinct accounts configured with active quotas (broken down by category).
Warning Threshold: Shows the global percentage at which a utilization alert triggers (e.g., 80%).
View Tabs
Enterprise Workloads: Displays a tabular view of traditional backup or infrastructure storage accounts.
SaaS Apps and Endpoints: Displays a tabular view of multi-tenant cloud applications (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace) where single accounts can contain multiple nested sub-modules and unique parameter mappings.
Setting the Global Warning Threshold
The Warning Threshold is a proactive system check that helps administrators address near-capacity storage issues before they impact backup operations.
Configured at the MSP level, this setting triggers a system-wide notification the moment total storage consumption hits the defined limit. This early warning allows administrators to proactively provision additional storage or pause backups.
Note: While the threshold rule is defined globally at the MSP level, utilization calculations are executed individually for each specific parameter.
How to Set Warning Thresholds
Locate the Warning Threshold section in the main Summary Banner.
Click the Edit (Pencil) icon to open the Set Warning Threshold modal window.
Check the Set Warning Threshold selection box to enable the rule.
Input the desired value into the percentage numeric field.
Note: Acceptable values range from 50 to 99 (both digits are inclusive).
Click Save to apply the configuration.
Note: Saving changes or updating the threshold value will automatically archive all previously associated warning violation events in the system backend to prevent legacy clutter.
Managing and Assigning Quotas
To configure or modify constraints for a specific account, select the account row from the main dashboard grid and click the Manage Quota button.
Configuration Panel Field Reference
When adding parameters inside the Assign Quota modal, map the fields according to the table below:
Field Name | Type / Requirement | Description |
Consumption Parameters | Dropdown (Required) | The specific service or resource metric being measured (e.g., Frontend Source Storage, Total Backup sets, Cloud Storage Used). |
Quota | Numeric Input + Unit (Required) | The maximum capacity limit allowed. Units dynamically scale according to the parameter selection (e.g., TB, Count). |
Increment By | Numeric Input (Conditional) | Automatically increases the Quota value if the current allocation is insufficient for the customer's backups. Increments are applied based on the selected Frequency. |
Frequency | Dropdown (Optional) (Conditional) | The scheduled interval at which the "Increment By" value is applied. Options include: • Monthly: Increments on the 1st of every month. • Quarterly: Increments on 1 Jan, 1 April, 1 July, 1 Oct. • Half-Yearly: Increments on the 1st of January and July. • Yearly: Increments on the 1st of January. |
Increment Till | Date Picker (Conditional) | The hard stop date marking when automated capacity increments will cease. Note: This date must be later than the “Upcoming Increment” date displayed on the screen. |
Skip Upcoming Cycle | Checkbox (Optional) | Skips the next single scheduled increment only. Future increments will resume normally based on the set frequency. |
Note:
If automated increments are enabled, Increment By, Frequency, and Increment Till are required and must be configured together.
Quota configurations do not restrict or stop resource consumption. Instead, they function as soft thresholds for monitoring purposes, automatically generating alerts to notify administrators when a violation occurs.
Handling Action Items & Modals
Add Multiple Metrics: Click Add Parameter at the top right of the grid to insert a blank configuration row. This allows a single account to carry independent rules for different resources concurrently.
Delete Mappings: Click the X icon at the structural end of any data row to remove that parameter rule from the active profile.
Clear All Work: Use the Remove All button to instantly purge all parameters inside the active configuration row cache.
Note: Whenever a product is removed or a quota limit is modified, all previously associated alerts for that configuration will be automatically archived.
Dashboard Data Grids
The tables under both tabs display data using the following field definitions:
Fields | Description |
Accounts | The customer entity associated with the violation. |
Product Module (SaaS Apps Only) | Displays the name of the specific cloud product suite (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace). |
Consumption Parameter | The metric being monitored (e.g., Frontend Source Storage). |
Unit | The measurement unit for the parameter (e.g., TB, GB, or Count). |
Quota | Displays the maximum allowed quota assigned to the customer. If Consumption Parameters reach or exceed the quota value then we raise a Critical alert. |
Increment By | Displays the value by which the quota automatically increases. |
Frequency | Displays the frequency set for increment. |
Upcoming Increment | The exact calendar date when the next automated storage increase will occur. |
Increment Till | The expiration date for automated quota increments. |
Filtering and Refining Views
You can click on the filters at the right edge of either dashboard table to invoke targeted contextual panels to narrow down extensive records.
Filter Variations
Filter EW (Enterprise Workloads): Provides a singular Parameter multi-select search box choice mapping.
Allows selection of one or multiple metrics (e.g., Parameter_1, Parameter_2) to restrict grid outputs.
Filter SaaS Apps: Provides dual-layer filtering.
Includes a Parameter multi-select dropdown matching data metrics.
Includes a Product Module multi-select dropdown field (e.g., Microsoft 365) to isolate app suites.
Applying Filter States
Click Apply to run the matching query logic and reload the data tables.
Click Reset to clear active tag strings inside the filter input fields and restore the global default view.
Note: Search on the violations table applies only to the currently visible records, whereas filtering applies to the entire dataset. This may lead to differences in displayed results depending on whether search or filter is used.
