Service Monitoring Overview

šŸ“NOTE: The access to Data Protection feature is limited. To avail the feature, contact support.

This guide provides a structured walkthrough of the Overview dashboard within the Managed Services Center. Use this dashboard to monitor the health of backups, data protection rules, and resource consumption across your customer environment.

Dashboard Overview

The Overview page provides a real-time snapshot of your data protection and resource status.

  • Data Sync: Data is periodically updated automatically.

  • Freshness Check: Always verify the Last Sync timestamp at the top of each widget to ensure you are viewing the most current information.

Note: The impacted accounts count displayed on the overview page may differ from the count shown in the details modal for the same rule. For example, the overview page may show a lower count (e.g., 2) while the details modal displays a higher count (e.g., 46). Please refer to the data shown in the details modal for the most accurate information.

Core Monitoring Categories

The dashboard is divided into two primary sections, each targeting a specific area of service health:

Category

Description

Data Protection Violations

Monitors policy-driven health, including Backup Success Rate, Consecutive Backup Failures and Recovery Point Objective.

Quota Violations

Tracks resource consumption against allocated limits. Alerts are categorized by Severity (Critical or Warning) to highlight accounts exceeding their storage or user limits.

Understanding Dashboard Metrics

Within the widgets, data is broken down into specific operational details to help you prioritize response efforts:

Data Protection Violations Widget

This widget tracks compliance against your established consecutive failure, backup policies and recovery objectives.

  • Total Active Violations: Displays the count of current issues. For Data Protection, a secondary digit in parentheses indicates new violations occurring within the last 24 hours.

  • Enterprise Workloads: Active violations affecting enterprise-level infrastructure.

  • SaaS Apps & Endpoints: Active violations affecting cloud applications (e.g., Entra ID, Microsoft 365) and user devices.

  • Impacted Accounts: The total number of customer accounts impacted by these issues.

Quota Violation Widget

The Quota Violations widget provides a high-level view of resource over-consumption across your managed accounts. It categorizes issues by severity rather than rule type.

  • Total Active Violations: The cumulative number of quota-related events (e.g., storage limits, user count limits) that are currently active.

  • Enterprise Workloads: Specifically highlights quota issues within server environments, such as "Archive Early Deletion Data" or "Frontend Source Storage."

  • SaaS Apps and Endpoints: Highlights quota issues within cloud apps, such as exceeding the "Total Active Users" count.

  • Impacted Accounts: The number of unique customer accounts that have at least one quota violation of that severity level.

Severity Definitions

To help you triage your workflow, Quota Violations are assigned a status based on urgency:

  • Critical: Usage has exceeded the allocated quota.

  • Warning: Usage has exceeded the pre-defined warning threshold.

Impacted Accounts & Coverage Audit

Clicking on the blue numerical values under Impacted Accounts opens a detailed pop-up.

1. Coverage Summary

At the top of the pop-up, the Top Summary Bar allows you to audit your monitoring coverage. It displays the ratio of monitored resources versus the total available across:

  • Total Accounts

  • Enterprise Workloads

  • SaaS Apps and Endpoints

Note: A warning will appear if monitoring coverage falls below 80%, prompting you to add accounts to Data Protection Rules.

2. The Accounts Table

A searchable table lists the affected accounts. The columns adjust based on the context:

  • For Data Protection: Shows Account Name, Service Plan, and total Active Violations.

  • For Quota Violations: Shows Account Name, Service Plan, Product (e.g., Enterprise Workloads or SaaS), and Active Critical/Warning Violations.

Taking Action

To investigate and resolve a specific issue:

  1. Locate the account in the Accounts Table within the pop-up.

  2. Click the blue number under the "Active Violations" column.

  3. Automatic Redirection:

    1. From Data Protection: Redirects to the Data Protection Violations page.

    2. From Quota: Redirects to the Quota Violations page.

The destination page will be automatically filtered to show the exact events for that specific account.
