📝NOTE: The access to this feature is limited. To avail the feature, contact support.

This guide provides a structured walkthrough of the Overview dashboard within Protection Insights. Use this dashboard to monitor the health of your backups and data protection rules across your entire environment.

Dashboard Overview

The Overview page provides a real-time snapshot of your data protection status.

  • Data Sync: Data is periodically updated automatically.

  • Freshness Check: Always verify the "Last Sync" timestamp at the top of the page to ensure you are viewing the most current information.

Core Monitoring Categories

The dashboard is divided into two key widgets, each targeting a specific area of backup health:

Category

Description

Backup Success Rate

Tracks the percentage of scheduled backups completed successfully.

Recovery Point Objective

Measures potential data loss in time. Alerts trigger if successful backups are less frequent than defined policies.

Understanding Dashboard Metrics

Within each of the three categories above, data is broken down into specific operational details:

  • Violations: Displays the total number of active issues. A secondary, smaller digit indicates how many of these occurred within the last 24 hours.

  • Enterprise Workloads: The number of active violations affecting enterprise-level infrastructure.

  • SaaS Apps & Endpoints: The number of active violations affecting cloud applications (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft 365) and user devices.

  • Accounts: The total number of customer accounts impacted by these issues.

Impacted Accounts

Access the Impacted Accounts pop-up to investigate failures. Use the Top Summary Bar to quickly audit your monitoring coverage across Accounts, Workloads, and SaaS/Endpoints.

The Accounts Table

Below the summary, a searchable table lists the affected accounts. The columns adjust based on which category you are investigating:

  • For Backup Success Rate: Shows Account Name, Service Plan and total Active Violations.

  • For Recovery Point Objective: Shows Account Name, Service Plan, the specific Rule Name broken, the affected Product, and the Active Violation count.

Investigating and Taking Action

To troubleshoot a specific issue from the Overview dashboard:

  1. Locate the account in the Impacted Accounts table.

  2. Click the Active Violations count.

  3. The system redirects you to the Data Protection Violation Page, pre-filtered for that account.
