Root Cause:
It’s possible that on Windows 10/11, after performing an M365 OneDrive restore, the OneDrive Version history in File Explorer will show the incorrect restore page. This is due to File GUID changes before and after the Restore. The Local DAT file may incorrectly point to the previous file. OneDrive will re-sync files over time; however, you can force this.
Resolution:
We can perform a reset of the local DAT file via this Microsoft link:
This works for both Windows and Mac operating systems. Afterward, the version history in File Explorer can show the correct Version History and restore from these files.
