Please note: The "Preserved Users" count in the Tenant Consumption Report shows the final billable number. This number may differ from the total user count displayed in the main UI because the report applies a billing allowance based on your active user consumption.

Here is an example of how this is calculated.

First, let's look at the account's license and actual usage.

1. License Details (Your Plan)

  • Licensed Active Users: 100

  • Licensed Preserved Users: 50

  • Free 10% Licensed Preserved Users: 10

  • Total Licensed Preserved Users: 60

2. Actual Consumption (Your Usage)

  • Active Users Consumed: 80

  • Preserved Users Consumed: 90 (This is the total count you would see in the UI)

  • Billable Active Users: 80

How the Billable Preserved Users are Calculated?

The report calculates your billable preserved users by taking your total Preserved Users Consumed (90) and subtracting a free allowance equal to 10% of your Active Users Consumed (80).

Formula: (Preserved Users Consumed) - (10% of Active Users Consumed) = Billable Preserved Users.

Step-by-Step:

  1. Find the allowance: 10% of 80 (Active Users Consumed) = 8

  2. Apply the allowance: 90 (Preserved Users Consumed) - 8 (Allowance) = 82

Result: The Billable Preserved Users number shown in the report is 82, even though the total number of preserved users consumed in the UI is 90.
