SFDC2.0 - When system object records are backed up, the Total Backup Data size in Druva is greater than the actual size of the org in SFDC

Problem description

Data Backup size in Druva inSync shows greater than the actual size of the org especially in the case of system objects like PricebookEntry, Product2, etc. object being backed up.

Resolution/Explanation:

  • This is an expected behavior.

  • Salesforce does not consider the PricebookEntry object in the Org’s storage consumption.

  • Salesforce Org’s storage consumption only includes the user objects and not system objects.

  • However, as Druva backs up these objects and stores on S3 storage, these get accounted for and show up towards the backup data size.
