Hyper-V FLR Proxy FAQs
Updated over a week ago

Can I deploy a single FLR Proxy for the entire environment or does each host require a dedicated proxy?

Since the FLR Proxy restores backups from virtual machines, you can deploy a single FLR Proxy for your entire environment.

Do I really need to deploy an FLR Proxy for each host, although when one proxy works for multiple hosts?

No, you can deploy a single proxy across the environment, provided it can access other hosts and VMs within that environment. Else, you can deploy one FLR Proxy on each Hyper-V host. The advantage of deploying the proxy on each Hyper-V host is that the closest location will recover quickly.

Which OS supports FLR Proxy?

CentOS 7.

Which protocol is used to mount File System on the FLR Proxy?

FUSE (Filesystem in Userspace). For more information, see Filesystem in Userspace.

What is the default user name and password for FLR Proxy?

root/druvaphoenix.

💡 Tip

Once you login to the FLR, it requires you to change the password.

Can I perform a file level restore from a virtual machine backup with a user snapshot?

No. You need to delete the user snapshots and backup the virtual machine to use file level restore. However Full VM & disk restores would not be affected by it.
