Overview
Use the Teams monitoring options to track backup and restore activities, review detailed statistics, and audit admin actions for Microsoft Teams.
From the Teams section in the Druva Console, you can:
View completed backup and restore activities for Teams in the Activity Stream.
Download detailed activity logs, including enhanced stats for Teams metadata and conversations.
Configure email alerts for failed Teams backups and restore status.
Review Teams‑related admin activity in the Audit Trails page.
Monitor Teams Activities
The Activity Stream tab for a Team displays details of completed backup and restore activities.
To monitor completed Teams activities:
Sign in to the Druva Cloud Platform Console and navigate to Microsoft 365 > Teams. A page listing all discovered Teams appears.
Click the Team Name you want to monitor.
Click the Activity Stream tab to view activity details.
On the Activity Stream tab, select the required Activity, Type, and time period, and click Download Logs. The logs are downloaded as
Activity.login text format.
You can also use filters on the Activity Stream to search for specific logs by Activity, Type, time interval, and status.
View Enhanced Backup and Restore Stats
Enhanced statistics for Team Site and Private Channel Site backup and restore are available when you download logs from the Activity Stream tab.
💡TIP:
Team Site and Private Channel Site backup and restore enhanced stats can also be viewed from the Activity Stream tab within inSync for SharePoint Online.
When you download logs, you can view additional statistics for Team Metadata and Team Conversation backup and restore activities.
Backup Logs
The following fields are available for Teams backup logs:
Team Metadata backup
Team changes – Count of changes at the team level, such as team rename, settings changes, or members added/deleted. Includes Addition and Modification counts (Addition count is shown only for the first backup).
Team app changes – Count of apps added (installed) or deleted (uninstalled) within the team (Addition, Deletion).
Team members changes – Count of members added or deleted within a team (Addition, Deletion).
Channel changes – Count of channels added, deleted, or modified within the team (Addition, Deletion, Modification).
Tabs changes across channels – Count of channel tab additions or deletions.
Member changes across channels – Count of members added or deleted across channels (Standard Channel includes all members; Private Channel includes specific members).
Team app failures – List of team app IDs for which backup failed; value is All if no apps are backed up, and None for fully successful backups.
team members failures – List of member IDs for which backup failed; value is All if no members are backed up, and None for fully successful backups.
channels failures – List of channel IDs for which backup failed; value is All if no channels are backed up, and None for fully successful backups.
channel tabs failures – List of channel tab IDs for which backup failed; value is All if no channel tabs are backed up, and None for fully successful backups.
channel members failures – List of channel member IDs for which backup failed; value is All if no channel members are backed up, and None for fully successful backups.
Team Conversation backup
Messages Added – Count of new messages, including replies to existing messages.
Messages deleted – Count of deleted messages.
Messages Modified – Count of messages that were updated or modified.
Channels failed – List of channel IDs for which message backup failed; value is All if no channels are backed up, and None for fully successful backups.
messages failed [channel−ids] – List of channel IDs where message backup failed; value is All if no messages in a channel are backed up, and None for fully successful backups.
replies failed – List of parent message IDs for which replies backup failed; value is All if no replies are backed up, and None for fully successful backups.
Restore Logs
The following fields are available for Teams restore logs:
Team Metadata restore
Success Count
MEMBER – Actual count of members restored; existing members in the team are not restored again and are not included in the count.
OWNERS – Count of owners created as part of the restore.
APPS – Count of apps restored.
CHANNELS – Total number of channels restored.
Team Settings – Status of the Team Settings selected for restore; shows True if settings are selected for restore.
Failures
MEMBER – List of member IDs for which restore failed; value is All if no members are restored.
OWNERS – List of owner IDs for which restore failed; value is All if no owners are restored.
APPS – List of app IDs for which restore failed; value is All if no apps are restored.
CHANNELS – List of channel IDs for which restore failed; value is All if no channels are restored.
Team Conversation restore
Messages failed to restore across the channels – List of message IDs for which restore failed; value is All if no messages are restored.
Messages successfully restored across the channels – Total number of messages restored successfully. For more details on conversations data recovery, see Recover Teams Conversations data in HTML format.
Configure Alerts for Teams Backup and Restore
A Druva Cloud administrator can configure email alerts to monitor Teams backup and restore status. The following alert type is available for Teams:
Team Backup Failed – Notifies when a Teams backup fails.
📝 Note: For Team Restore Status, an alert notification is sent through an email.
To configure the Team Backup Failed alert:
On the inSync Management Console, click the bell icon to open the Manage Alerts page.
From the Severity dropdown, select All Severity or Warning.
Select the Team Backup Failed alert type.
Click Edit. On the Alert Settings page, update the required fields and click Save.
View Teams Audit Trail
Use the Audit Trails page to view activities performed by administrators related to Microsoft Teams. To view Teams audit trails:
On the inSync Management Console menu bar, click Audit Trails.
Navigate to Admin Audit Trail.
In Activity Type, select Microsoft Teams.
The audit trail helps you track who performed key Teams operations and when, aligning with your organization’s compliance and governance requirements.
