Overview
After configuring the Customer Mappings, the next step is to configure the ConnectWise Consumption Sync feature.
This article provides detailed instructions to configure the Product Mappings for the Consumption sync feature.
Before you begin
Ensure you have configured ConnectWise PSA on your MSC console. For more information, refer to Introduction to ConnectWise Integration.
Ensure that you have enabled the Consumption Sync feature while configuring ConnectWise PSA.
Ensure you have mapped your customer accounts with ConnectWise Companies. For more information, refer to Configure Customer Mappings.
ConnectWise Prerequisites
The MSP Admin has already created companies in the Active state in ConnectWise PSA.
Each company must have valid Agreements, Additions, and Products configured.
For each addition, a unique Product ID should be created.
At least one Board is available in ConnectWise.
A Default Team and Default Status must be configured.
You may also set a default Type and Subtype. However, this is optional.
Before you map a board, it is essential to confirm that you can successfully create a ticket for that specific company and board combination directly in your ConnectWise environment.
To ensure accurate cost calculations, you must manually adjust the Cost Price and Unit Price in your ConnectWise (CW) Addition. For products with add-ons, these prices should include the price of the add-ons as well, since Druva does not send consumption for add-ons separately to CW.
Configure Product Mapping for Consumption Sync
To configure Product Mappings-
In the Managed Service Centre (MSC) Console, go to Settings > Integrations.
In the Integrations window, select ConnectWise PSA to open the ConnectWise PSA page.
3. On the ConnectWise PSA page, under the Customer Mapping tab, select the customer Account Name for which you want to configure Product Mapping. The Customer Details page opens, displaying License Add-on details and Product Mappings.
4. On the Customer Details page, click Manage Product Mapping.
Note: The Manage Product Mapping button will be disabled if the “Consumption Sync” feature is not enabled during ConnectWise configuration. To know more, refer to Introduction to Connectwise document.
5. In the Manage Product Mapping window, you will see following fields:
Product Module: Displays the product modules provisioned for the customer. Supported modules include:
Enterprise Workloads
Endpoints
Microsoft 365
Google Workspace
Edition: The customer's current license edition.
Business- This edition has limited features.
Enterprise- This edition includes features from Business along with additional features. For SaaS Apps and Endpoints, this edition includes features from Business along with additional features such as High Storage Tier and Sensitive Data Governance.
Elite- This edition includes features from Business and Enterprise along with additional features." For SaaS Apps and Endpoints, it similarly supports High Storage Tier and Sensitive Data Governance.
Usage: The specific metric used for billing. The available Usage options depend on the selected Product Module, as shown below:
Product Module | Usage |
Enterprise Workloads | Cloud Storage/ Early Delete Long Term Retention Storage/ Long Term Retention Storage |
Microsoft 365 | Active Users/ Preserved Users |
Endpoints | Active Users/ Preserved Users |
Google Workspace | Active Users/ Preserved Users |
Interval/ Month: Defines how the consumption value is calculated and synchronized to ConnectWise at the end of each monthly interval. Select one of the following methods:
Average: Calculates the average daily consumption over the calendar month. This method provides a more accurate measure of typical usage by excluding the initial day a service is activated (the "provisioning day").
Maximum: Uses the single highest consumption value recorded during the previous calendar month.
Last Day: Uses the consumption value recorded on the final day of the previous calendar month (per the Gregorian calendar).
Sum (For Enterprise Workloads only): Calculates the total sum of all reported storage types.
CW Agreement: The ConnectWise Agreement associated with the mapped customer company.
CW Sequence: The Sequence Number associated with an Agreement Addition. Note: Ensure you select the correct Sequence ID as it appears in your ConnectWise platform to ensure accurate mapping.
CW Addition ID: A read-only field displaying the unique primary key for the Agreement Addition in ConnectWise.
CW Product ID: A read-only field displaying the unique identifier for the mapped product in ConnectWise.
If a customer does not have any licenses provisioned, the Product Mapping page will appear empty, as shown below.
To begin the mapping process, you must first add a product for this customer. Click on the hyperlink text “Customer Details” to check the provisioning of the customer.
Notes:
For Enterprise Workloads, all consumption data will be provided in gigabytes (GB).
Each unique combination of a ConnectWise Agreement and Addition can only be mapped to a single Usage value.
Decimal numbers are rounded up to the next whole number.
When disabling a company or changing its mapping, you must first unmap and save its existing mapping on the Product Mapping page to stop Consumption updates. This step is currently required to ensure that consumption for the previous mapping is properly stopped.
6. Once the Product module is successfully mapped with ConnectWise Agreements and Additions, you can view the details on the Customer Mapping page.
