Security Update: Introducing Safe Mode – Configure Now!

We are excited to announce Safe Mode, a powerful new feature designed to immediately enhance your data security and rapidly contain threats.

Why Safe Mode is Critical for Your Data

Safe Mode provides an essential layer of defense during a security incident. It acts as a digital lockdown, restricting access to your Cloud platform and adding crucial data restrictions.

Using Safe Mode, you can:

  • Instantly contain breaches: Limit potential damage by controlling access and operations during an attack.

  • Maintain granular control: Decide exactly who can access your data and what actions (like backups, restores, or downloads) are permitted.

  • Enable rapid response: Empower your teams with a self-service option or allow authorized Support to activate it immediately upon threat detection.

Your Essential Next Step: Configure Safe Mode

To ensure the fastest possible response, it is critical to configure Safe Mode and authorize Support to activate Safe Mode for your account.

This crucial configuration allows our team to take immediate action if a threat to your backup infrastructure or data is detected, either by you or by our periodic scans of your backed-up data. Safe Mode leverages Response capabilities of Managed Data Detection and Response (MDDR) service for continuous threat monitoring. Learn more about MDDR here.

By configuring Safe mode, you ensure the fastest possible response and an invaluable first line of defense against evolving threats. Don't wait for an incident to occur. Learn more about Safe Mode

Feature

Introducing an updated integration center with webhooks

We're excited to announce our refreshed integration center.

The new integration center brings together:

  • Out of the box integrations that Druva supports

  • A new home for API credentials

  • A brand new mechanism to integrate external services via webhooks

This is our attempt to bring all external integrations under a single roof. Earlier, API credentials lived under manage administrators section. But we think that each mechanism to connect an external service with our platform should stay in one place.

We're also excited to introduce webhooks as a new way to connect an external service with our platform. Now, you can specify a webhook URL, and we will post events to that URL in real time. To learn more about webhooks, see Use webhooks to integrate third party services with Druva.

Key highlights:

  • Druva Cloud Administrators can now set a specific inactivity period for administrator accounts.

Feature

Introducing Data Governance Reports APIs

We've added APIs for Data Governance reports in our common reporting framework in addition to the reports on our cloud platform user interface. Now, as per your requirements, you can quickly get report data.

You can build integrations to obtain specific data for various use cases. For example, you can:

  • Track the status of workloads periodically and trigger automated responses using third-party apps or custom scripts. For example, you can create a ticket to inform an administrator if there’s a file that violates your company’s compliance policies.

  • Keep a close eye on critical activities such as compliance violations. This visibility allows you to proactively address any issues that may arise.

  • Run narrowed-down diagnostics using filters to provide evidence during audits.

  • Build personalized reports or a view to monitor all your data.

With these new APIs, you'll have more flexibility and control over your reporting.

For more information, see Getting Started with Reports API.
