Administrator Provisioning using AD/LDAP
Updated over a month ago

Overview

Druva has introduced the integration of AD/LDAP with the Druva Cloud Platform, which allows you to seamlessly provision and manage the administrators.

The “Administrator Provisioning using AD/LDAP” feature empowers the DCP administrators with additional capabilities by provisioning & managing administrators using AD/LDAP.

Benefits

  • Effortless Management: Integrating AD/LDAP details with the Druva Cloud Platform helps you streamline the process of creating, managing, and provisioning Druva administrators. by eliminating the manual overhead of adding and removing administrators.

  • Enhanced Security: Enforce your organization's security policies by leveraging pre-defined user groups and access controls within your AD/LDAP directory. This ensures that only authorized personnel have access to Druva and its sensitive data.

  • Improved Efficiency: Simplify onboarding and offboarding of administrators with automated provisioning and de-provisioning. Spend less time managing accounts.

AD/LDAP Integration with Druva Cloud Platform

For Existing inSync customers using AD/LDAP for User Management

As a DCP administrator, you must first upgrade all the old AD/LDAP Connectors that are in use in inSync for user provisioning using AD/LDAP. This ensures ongoing access to user accounts and mappings using the new Connector. Upgrading the Connectors allows the inSync administrators to modify the existing user mappings associated with the new AD/LDAP Connector.

For first-time customers who want to integrate AD/LDAP for Administrator Management

As a DCP administrator, you can seamlessly import and manage administrators for the following workloads using the AD/LDAP integration. This capability streamlines the administrative tasks and access controls from a centralized location.

  • Enterprise Workloads

  • Endpoints

  • Google Workspace

  • M365 Workloads

  • Cyber Resilience and Data Governance

Steps

Reference

1

Download and install Connector

Download and install the AD/LDAP Connector to establish a connection between AD/LDAP and the Druva Cloud Platform.

2

Configure Connector

Once installed, configure the connector to enable communication with your AD/LDAP server.

3

Register Accounts

With the connector configured, register your AD/LDAP accounts with the connector. This enables Druva to access the user information for administrator provisioning.

4

(Optional) Upgrade old AD/LDAP Connectors

If you are an existing inSync customer using AD/LDAP for managing users, you need to upgrade the old AD/LDAP Connector to access the mappings associated with the old AD/LDAP Connector.

5

Create Mappings

The final step involves creating administrator mappings that specify how specific AD/LDAP attributes correspond to administrator roles.
