File server backup fails with Backup Window Expired
Updated over 10 months ago

Problem description

File server backups get stuck at any random percentage, for example, 16%, and will not fail unless canceled manually or the Backup window expired message appears.

Cause

If the file size is huge or if there are a larger number of files, a full scan will take some time to read the files and will show a delay in the progress. In addition, if the disk space is critically low, you will face this issue. Microsoft Windows throws an alert if the disk space is less than 10 %.
