How to send the email message to new users when using the Import feature

Overview

This article provides step-by-step procedures on how administrators can send activation emails to new users. This can be done manually when importing users via the Import button, or automatically when users are provisioned through a user provisioning mapping (such as Entra ID, Active Directory, SCIM, or Google Workspace).

Procedure 1: Manual Import (Using the Import Button)

  1. Navigate to the Users section within your Druva console.

  2. In the top right corner, click on the Import dropdown button.

  3. Select your desired import method (e.g., Import Users from CSV, Import Users from Entra ID, etc.).

  4. Follow the prompts to select the specific users you wish to import.

  5. After clicking to import the users, a confirmation window will appear asking if you want to send an activation email to the end users. Select the appropriate users and click the button to send the activation emails/passwords.

Procedure 2: Automated User Provisioning (Directory Mapping)

If you rely on automated directory mapping to bring in users, use this method to ensure they receive an activation email as soon as they are added.

  1. Within your Druva console, navigate to Users > User Provisioning from the left-hand menu.

  2. Select the specific mapping you wish to modify and click the Edit button.

3. Check the box next to Send activation email to newly added users.

4. Click Save to apply your changes.
