Overview

We don't recommend installing any third-party software on a VMware backup proxy because it may interfere with the VMware backups and restores. However, if you must install third-party software on the proxy, we recommend excluding specific Druva binaries and directories from the third-party software. We also recommend adding the port required for communication between the VMware backup proxy and Druva Cloud to the allow list.

Additional considerations

Ensure that the VMware backup proxy meets the prerequisites in Prerequisites to install the backup proxy article. Additionally, ensure that the resources on the VMware backup proxy are sufficient for the security software and itself.
