Salesforce App Installation Failed with Error: "Your company currently has exceeded its data storage limits"

Problem

When attempting to install or upgrade the Druva App for Salesforce, the installation fails, and the administrator encounters a specific error message regarding data storage limits.

Error Message

The following error message is displayed during the installation process:

β€œYour company currently has exceeded its data storage limits including an extra overflow buffer. Per our terms and conditions, we cannot permit additional data creation within our system until your company first reduces its current data storage. Please contact your company's salesforce.com administrator to resolve this.”

Cause

This error is generated by Salesforce, not Druva. It indicates that the Salesforce organization has surpassed its data storage limits.1

Specifically, this is often caused by exceeding the Static Resources Limit (typically capped at 250 MB).2 Because the Druva package requires a certain amount of static resource storage to install, Salesforce prevents the installation of new managed packages until the storage usage is reduced or the limit is increased.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, the Salesforce Administrator must address the storage limits directly within the Salesforce platform.

Follow the steps below to clear the error:

  1. Audit Static Resources: Log in to Salesforce and navigate to Setup > Custom Code > Static Resources to review current usage.

  2. Reduce Storage Usage: Identify and delete outdated or unnecessary static resources to bring the total usage below the 250 MB limit.

  3. Contact Salesforce Support: If it is not possible to delete existing resources, open a support case with Salesforce Support to request an increase in your Static Resources Limit.

  4. Retry Installation: Once the storage usage is within limits or the capacity has been increased, attempt to install the Druva package again.
