Failsafe Access to Druva Cloud: Using a Non-SSO Account.

Failsafe Access to Druva Cloud: Using a Non-SSO Account.

Updated yesterday

Summary

This article provides the procedure for accessing the Druva Cloud console when Single Sign-On (SSO) is unavailable. This is achieved by using a dedicated, non-SSO administrator account and a specific failsafe login URL. This method ensures administrative access during an SSO provider outage.

Problem description

In an environment where SSO is strictly enforced, an outage or misconfiguration of the Identity Provider (IdP) can lock administrators out of the Druva Cloud console. A failsafe access method is required to perform emergency administrative tasks.

Resolution

The solution involves a one-time configuration to enable the failsafe option and then using a special URL with a non-SSO administrator account to log in during an outage.

Part 1: One-Time Configuration

Before this feature can be used, a Druva Cloud administrator must enable it.

  1. Log in to the Druva Cloud console.

  2. In the Global Navigation Panel (top left), click Druva Cloud Settings.

  3. Navigate to the Access Settings tab and click Edit on the Single Sign-On card.

  4. Under the Access Control section, select the checkbox for Failsafe for Administrators.

  5. Click Save.

Part 2: Failsafe Login Procedure (During SSO Outage)

Only users with the Cloud Administrator or above role can use this login method.

  1. Open a web browser and navigate to the failsafe login URL: https://login.druva.com/?failsafe=True

  2. Enter the credentials (email address and password) of a pre-configured, non-SSO Cloud Administrator account.

  3. Complete the multi-factor authentication (MFA) prompt.

This will bypass the SSO redirect and grant you direct access to the Druva Cloud console.
