Error in listing restore points. Error: Internal error

Error in listing restore points. Error: Internal error

Updated over a week ago

Problem description

  • You are assigned a Custom Role as a Product Admin, with limited permissions.

  • When attempting to restore and reaching the stage where restore points (RPs) are listed, an error occurs:

"Error in listing restore points. Error : Internal error"

  • The HAR trace logs the same message:

{"status": -1, "msg": "Error in listing restore points. Error : Internal error"}

  • Other admins with DCP roles are able to view the restore points without issue.

Resolution

Note: Below mentioned steps need to be performed by another DCP Admin

  • The assigned role lacks necessary permissions for performing a restore operation.

  • To review and correct the role settings:
Go to Settings on Druva Console → Manage Administrators → Roles

  • Select the relevant role, click Edit, and update the permissions accordingly. Important: According to Druva’s policy, once a role is assigned to an Admin account, it cannot be modified directly.

  • Therefore, you must delete the existing Admin account and recreate it using the updated role.

To delete the Admin account:

  • Log in to the Druva Console using a DCP Admin account.

  • Open the Global Navigation menu (as shown in the screenshot).

  • Navigate to Manage Administrators.

  • Locate the affected Admin account, click the three vertical dots (top-right), and select Delete Administrator.

  • To recreate the Admin account:

    • After deletion, return to the Administrators page.

    • Click on New Administrator and follow the prompts to create the Admin account with the corrected role.

Verification

  • After the Admin account has been successfully re-created, ask the Admin to activate the account using the link sent to their registered email address.

  • Once activated, verify whether the restore points are now listed correctly and confirm that the restore operation can be performed as expected.
