Reinstall Microsoft Entra ID App

Reinstallation of the Microsoft Entra ID APP is required in the following scenarios:

  1. For any permissions-related updates required by the inSync app in Microsoft Azure.

  2. If the password of the global admin account has changed recently.

  3. MFA was set for the account after reinstallation was done.

  4. Any permission-related changes that are made to the global administrator account used to configure the Microsoft Entra ID app in inSync.

    ​Example: If any changes are made to the conditional access permissions of the global administrator account used to configure any Microsoft 365 app, you must re-install the Microsoft 365 account in inSync.​


Procedure to Re-Install inSync with Microsoft 365:

  1. From the global navigation panel, click Microsoft Entra ID.

  2. On the Overview page, click on Ellipsis and then click on Re-install App.

3. On the confirmation pop-up, click Re-Install to proceed with reinstallation.

4. On the Microsoft 365 login page, enter the Microsoft 365 global administrator's username and password, and then click Sign in.

5. Click Accept to grant the inSync app the required permissions to access Entra ID data.

6. The permissions displayed are a combined list for these apps.

inSync gets connected to the Entra ID data in your organization.
