Overview

If an administrator enables system settings backup, users can restore system settings to their device while activating inSync.

​Before you restore system and application settings, ensure that the operating system and the applications on the old and the new device match the restores that inSync supports. See, Supported system settings.


Supported restores

The following table lists the restores that your inSync setup supports.

Windows OS

  • Windows 10 (64-bit) to Windows 11 (64-bit)

macOS X

  • macOS X 12.00, macOS X 13.00, macOS X 14.00

​ inSync does not support the migration of Mac user accounts.


Network Printer Settings

  • Windows 10 to Windows 11


πŸ“ Note
​inSync does not support migration of local printer settings. For network printers, inSync does not backup the credentials to access the printer. You must re-enter the credentials.


Microsoft Outlook (Outlook)

  • Outlook 2019, Outlook 2021


πŸ“ Note

  • inSync migrates the default language for Outlook 2019 & 2021. However, inSync does not set it as the default language.

  • inSync does not support the migration of stationary fonts and mail formats.

  • inSync does not support the migration of stored passwords.

  • inSync does not support the migration of settings of an earlier version of Outlook 2019.


Microsoft Office (same bit migration)

  • Microsoft Office 2019 to Microsoft Office 2021
