Easily upgrade CloudCache to the latest version with a single click from the Management Console.

πŸ“ Note
This feature is available for versions 3.2 and later. Manual upgrade to version 3.2 or later is required if you're on an earlier version. Download the latest version via Settings > Downloads or from the Downloads page. You can also upgrade the CloudCache to the latest version in a single click from the Management Console.

Before you begin

  • Ensure that the server on which your CloudCache is installed matches the minimum requirements listed for CloudCache R3 under System requirements.

  • Update your operating system to Ubuntu 22.04 or later.

  • Instant Restore (IR) is not available on CloudCache R3. If you want to avail IR, do not upgrade your CloudCache to R3. Any CloudCache having virtual machines configured for IR is not upgradable to R3.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the Management Console.

  2. Click Manage > CloudCache. Note that if the All Organizations menu is enabled, you have to first select an organization and then click Manage > CloudCache.

  3. Click the Configured tab.
In the Version column, you can view the current status of each CloudCache.

    • Latest: The current version is the latest version that is available.

    • Upgradable: The current version is upgradable.

    • Upgrade scheduled: An upgrade is in progress. Jobs that are in progress at the time of upgrade will restart after the upgrade is complete. Ongoing Backup now jobs will fail after triggering the upgrade.

    • Not upgradable: The current version cannot be upgraded to the latest version through the Druva portal.

  4. Select one or more CloudCaches that you want to upgrade and click Upgrade.

  5. On the confirmation dialog box, click Yes.

Limitations

  • If you have installed a hotfix on your existing Druva version, you cannot automatically upgrade to the next version from the Management Console. You must manually upgrade to the next available version.

  • If the CloudCache server restarts during the upgrade, you must manually upgrade or rollback the CloudCache version.

  • After triggering the update, if you have any ongoing scheduled backup and restore jobs, the jobs will resume after the upgrade.

  • If the old version is not present on the CloudCache server, the upgrade rollback fails. In this scenario, you must manually upgrade or rollback the CloudCache.
