Discover and manage Proxmox nodes and clusters

Updated today

πŸ“ Note

This feature is currently available under the Early Access program. To know more about the Early Access program and sign up for this feature, contact Support or your Account Executive.

Once the backup proxy is activated, all nodes within the cluster are automatically discovered and displayed on the All Nodes page.

Discovery is performed at the cluster level. For example, if a cluster contains two nodes (Node 1 and Node 2) and a proxy is registered only on Node 1, both nodes will appear on the All Nodes page.

❗ Important

While the entire cluster (Node 1 and Node 2) is visible, you can only back up the VMs on Node 1.

If a virtual machine is deleted from a node, its configured VMs will be disabled on the next discovery run.

On the All Nodes page, you can:

  • Configure your Proxmox setup

  • Monitor the registered nodes, clusters and the virtual machines managed by or hosted on them

  • View a list of all the registered nodes and clusters.

Field

Description

Node

If the backup proxy is activated on a cluster node, all nodes within the cluster are displayed with details such as cluster information, total number of VMs, configured VMs, backup proxy status, and connection status.

If the backup proxy is activated on a standalone node, only the corresponding node information is displayed.

Cluster

Displays the cluster name of the node. For a standalone node, the cluster name is displayed as – .

# Total VMs

The total number of VMs deployed on the node or cluster. Clicking the count of the total number of VMs takes you to the All Virtual Machines page for that node or cluster.

Configured VMs

The number of VMs configured on that node. Clicking the count of the configured VMs takes you to the Configured VMs page for that node or cluster. The page is filtered to display only the backup-enabled VMs.

Backup Proxies

The total number of backup proxies deployed on the node in a cluster.

Actions you can perform from the list view

Action

Description

Register New Node

Deploy a backup proxy on your standalone node or node in a cluster and register the backup proxy.

Delete

Delete the selected node or cluster.

πŸ“ Note

All proxies mapped to the node or cluster must be deleted, and all the virtual machines on that node or cluster must be unconfigured.
