This article describes the Azure SQL backup workflow.

Step 1

The Scheduler triggers the backup job per the backup policy schedule.

The backup job requests a VM from VM orchestration.

Job orchestration requests the creation of a VM in the customer’s Azure Environment.


Note:

The VM gets created in the customer’s Azure environment in the following format:

DruvaQuantumBridge-<customerid>-<jobid>_<attempt_no>.

For example, DruvaQuantumBridge-4354-1868_0

Step 4

Data services send a data export request to the VM created in the customer’s environment.

The VM in the customer’s environment serves as an Azure-SQL Agent that executes commands from data services.

The exported data is moved to Druva’s transient Blob storage.

Job orchestration directs data to the Storage services.

A request is sent to delete the Druva's Quantum Bridge.
